July 28th, 2021 update

Hi all!

It's been a little while since I've posted an update. Here's where things are at:

  • 3 more chapters left to fully complete in Phronesis
  • Then to go over the entire Part III — Phronesis and tidy it up
  • Then to adjust my future estimates for the next sections of the book

To give you a little more detail as to how I've been working these last few weeks, at the beginning of each week, I rally up all of my Apollo, solidbook.io, khalilstemmler.com, and personal tasks, I give them an estimate, and I spread them out throughout the week.

Pictured here are (most of the) remaining the tasks for me to do left on this chapter. There are also a few more not pictured, like adjusting the timeline based on this past few iterations of me doing this over the last month.

I'm incredibly excited to share this with you. As far as I know, there has never quite been something like this before — something that ties together the entire picture of software craftsmanship, agile techniques, practices, and a philosophy of software design into one cohesive guide. This section lies down the framework for the rest of the book.

A lot of readers are most looking forward for me to complete the portions on TDD, OO, and Design Principles. I'm just as excited to write those. Luckily, they're up next after this. I believe Phronesis paints a good picture as to how and when all these things are to be used, and the correct amounts thereof.

I appreciate your patience. I'll send you an email when it's ready.
