43. The Structural Principles
đź’ˇ
Structural principles focus on how we arrange abstractions in code: which components go where, and how they relate. This corresponds to the essential of Vertical Slices (coding out features as vertical slices of e2e functionality) and Horizontal Decoupling (making sure modules within a layer are not too intertwined).
Chapter Goals
- Explore five Structural guidelines.
-
Learn two meta-questions to check if we’re mixing concerns in a single module:
- What pattern is this?
- Is it doing too much?
- See real-life contexts (often from an eCommerce perspective) to illustrate each principle. …
Howdy đź‘‹
This is an online wiki about the main topics over the last 40 years of software design, architecture & testing. It was created by Khalil Stemmler.
This wiki's mission is to help eliminate the unknown unknowns, helping you get up to speed on the best practices and principles to write testable, flexible, and maintainable code.
I created this wiki while I was connecting the dots on my own path. You can read more about that learning journey in the introduction
Already bought it?
